POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, the Gift Processing Clerk is responsible for processing donations, delivering high quality data entry and providing exemplary customer service. This includes ensuring compliance with data integrity standards within Luminate Online (CRM system) and adhering to data entry protocols that ensure donor data is entered consistently and accurately. The ideal candidate for this contract position will have strong data entry skills, be detailed and service-oriented and have some level of work flexibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Functional Duties

  • Data entry and gift processing large volumes transactions in Luminate Online
  • Update and create constituent records in Luminate Online, as required
  • Make outbound solicitation calls to CIBC Run for the Cure participants
  • Communicate issues to Senior Manager
  • Regularly handle confidential information
  • Other duties as assigned
Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Works in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations
  • Reviews and complies with the Health and Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Completion of secondary school with some office experience
  • Rigorous attention to detail, with capacity to ensure accuracy in own and others’ work
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Cash/credit card handling experience
  • Can stay focused for a long period
  • Able to handle repetitive nature of the job
  • Proficiency in specialized computer applications including MS Office, Raiser’s Edge and Luminate
  • Online is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of financial processes related to gift processing
  • Basic understanding of PCI compliance and CRA receipting guidelines
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience in dealing with high volume of work, tight deadlines and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Cancer Society and its structure, policies and procedures is an asset
  • A criminal records check is required
  • Non-smoker

  • Works closely and interacts with other Donor Services team members, however most work is completed independently

  • Works under tight deadlines
  • Works with confidential issues and data

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sits for extended periods
  • Involves significant computer & telephone use, often at the same time
  • Requires a high degree of concentration to ensure accuracy
